APPLICATIONS
The inert atmosphere furnace is a type of muffle furnace designed to operate under an inert gas atmosphere. This specialized furnace features a gas inlet, which allows for the introduction of an inert gas into the heating chamber. This gas could be nitrogen, argon, helium, or any other gas that does not react with the substances being heated.
The purpose of the inert gas is to create a non-reactive atmosphere inside the furnace. This is crucial for specific applications where reactions with ambient air can affect the quality of the result or even cause safety risks.
Thanks to its unique feature of an inert atmosphere, this type of furnace is utilized in a plethora of applications. It is particularly beneficial for processes that require a non-reactive environment.
For instance, in materials science, it’s often used for the sintering of metal powders. During this process, metal powders are heated to a temperature below their melting point, causing the particles to bond together. An inert atmosphere prevents the metal from oxidizing at these high temperatures.
Moreover, inert atmosphere is also used for annealing processes. Annealing involves heating a material and then allowing it to cool slowly to remove any internal stresses and toughen it. Conducting this process in an inert atmosphere can prevent undesirable chemical reactions from occurring.
standard features
- The stove’s outer casing is made of Q235 low carbon steel, featuring electrostatic and corrosion resistance on the surface. It has a sturdy metal frame shell structure, with a low furnace surface temperature.
- The chamber is insulated with alumina ceramic fiber for maximum temperature stability and uniformity, as well as low energy consumption.
- The furnace door adopts a flange structure, with PTFE sealing rings and a spiral compression device, providing good sealing.
- The inert atmosphere furnace can operate under vacuum, with a vacuum degree of -0.1Mpa. It is less expensive than a vacuum furnace, making it a cost-effective option.
- The furnace top is equipped with a water cooling system. This effectively reduces the heat dissipation temperature, ensuring the normal operation of the heating element.
- High-quality heating elements provide excellent temperature uniformity, offer fast heat-up and cool-down rates, and ensure unsurpassed temperature uniformity along the entire heated length.
- Heating rate is 1-25℃/min, a suggested 15℃/min heating rate for a long service life.
- An intelligent microcomputer-based self-tuning PID temperature controller, with SCR/SSR control, can set the heating curve and program 4 groups of 30 segments for program heating, program heat preservation, and program cooling.
- The temperature control is precise, with minimal temperature fluctuations. It includes temperature compensation and calibration functions, with an accuracy of ±1℃.
- The device features a circuit breaker that trips automatically during a leakage or short circuit, safeguarding both equipment and operators.
- The furnace emits an alarm signal and automatically protects when overheated or when the thermocouple breaks during the working process.
- The integrated design of the furnace cover enables easy sample placement and quick cooling.
- Standard configurations: Furnace body -1 set, Thermocouple -1 set, Manual -1 copy, Temperature controller -1 set, High temperature gloves -1 pair, Crucible Tong -1 set
- Optional accessories:
- Optional float flowmeter
- Optional gas mixing device
- Automatic power off when furnace door opens
